[DEMO] Sketching at Union Station with special guest Ronaldo Kurita (USk President) & Demo with Hagen Materne

 SUNDAY MARCH 29, 2025 | 1:30-4:30PM

Dominion Public Building sketch by Hagen

We'll be returning to one of our staple locations for an afternoon of sketching on Saturday March 29, Union Station! This meetup will feature a visit from special guest Ronaldo Kurita (@ronaldokurita), President of the international Urban Sketchers organization, of which we are a chapter. This is a great opportunity to sketch and chat with him in person. Also featuring a demo by Hagen Materne (@wwkh2o). 1:30pm - We’ll meet at the Great Hall by the clock for a quick 10 to 15-min optional meet and greet. 1:45pm - In the Great Hall, Hagen will do an approximately 30-minute demo in a tutorial style, perfect for beginners. This tutorial is intended for sketching along and Hagen will offer quick tips and look over your sketches. Supplies: We recommend bringing a pencil and sketchbook with large pages if you would like to participate. After the demo we'll disperse to sketch individually or in small groups. There’s a lot to sketch whether you prefer architecture or people-sketching! If you get peckish (or want to sketch food) there is a great new food district on the lower level. 4:30pm - We’ll reconvene in the same spot for our optional throwdown to share sketches, chat, and take a group photo. Please note: - NO oil or acrylic paints to be used at the venue’s request to protect the heritage floors. Watercolours in a pan format are allowed. I know you all are very careful with your paints, but please be mindful to avoid any spillage. - Please do not block pedestrian traffic and treat security with courtesy. Tag @torontounion in your social media posts—they would love to see your sketches! Where: Union Station, 65 Front St W When: March 29, 1:30-4:30pm Host: Natalie Carvajal (@natalie.dauntless) and Diana Basciano (@dianabasc722)
